Solar Power Rebates in 2025: What’s Available in Your Area?

EcoFlow

With the cost of solar systems dropping and energy prices rising, there’s never been a better time to invest in solar energy. But the real incentive? Rebates. In 2025, Canadians from coast to coast can tap into federal and provincial programs that slash the upfront costs of solar panels, battery systems, and home energy retrofits. Whether you're a homeowner, landlord, or business owner, rebates and incentives are available if you know where to look. Here’s a full breakdown of what’s available across Canada and who is eligible.

Solar Power Rebates in Canada for 2025

All Canadians are eligible for federal solar rebates, such as the 30% Clean Technology Investment Tax Credit or the Canada Greener Homes initiative, which provides homeowners up to $5,000 for energy-efficient retrofits and interest-free loans of up to $40,000. These incentives will allow you to reach your solar payback period quickly and start earning free energy for years to come.

However, you can potentially double your savings, or more, by taking advantage of additional provincial programs. Let’s take a look!

Alberta

Solar Offset Program

The Solar Offset program allows homeowners and landlords in Alberta to offset their electricity usage when they install photovoltaic panels and sell any excess energy they produce back to the grid. To be eligible, you must be the owner or lessee of a solar system less than 5MW in size.

Installing EcoFlow Solar Panels will immediately save money on your electricity bill, and by selling extra energy you produce during the day that you don’t use, you can save even more.

Solar Club Loyalty Program

The Solar Club is another program that allows you to sell your excess energy. It offers flexible rates of 30.00¢/kWh when you export more than you import and a lower rate of 8.77¢/kWh during months when you import more than you export. To be eligible, you must be registered by the Wires Service Provider as a micro-generator.
