Fridge Runtime Boost™ is enabled in the EcoFlow app and optimizes power delivery for refrigerators whose compressors cycle on and off. Refrigerators run approximately 15% longer with the mode enabled than with it disabled. Refrigerator compressors can draw 3–8 times their rated power at startup. We therefore recommend AC refrigerators within the following rated power limits: • RIVER 260 Gen4 (600W surge): Up to 80W. • RIVER 520 Gen4 (1000W surge): Up to 150W. Compatible compact refrigerated cabinets and beverage coolers are also supported. Compatibility depends on actual operating conditions.
A 0% reading does not mean the battery is completely depleted. Emergency Power Mode™ uses a small energy reserve within the battery management system’s safety limits, providing limited power for essential needs such as calls, messages, and navigation. A dedicated icon appears on the display when the mode is active. This mode does not add battery capacity and must be enabled in the EcoFlow app before first use. After use, recharge the unit to at least 30% as soon as possible.
Fridge Runtime Boost™ supports runtime extension for one AC compressor-based cooling appliance at a time, such as a refrigerator, freezer, or wine cooler. Do not connect multiple cooling appliances or use them alongside other AC appliances, as this may affect power supply stability.
• Smaller and lighter: RIVER 260 Gen4 is 30% smaller by volume and 17% lighter than RIVER 3. RIVER 520 Gen4 is 59% smaller by volume and 23% lighter than RIVER 2 Max. • Lower standby power consumption: RIVER Gen4 consumes approximately 1W while powered on, with AC/DC outputs off and no devices connected. • Better energy retention during storage: When fully charged and stored while powered off, RIVER Gen4 retains approximately 99% charge after one year. Actual results depend on storage conditions and battery condition. • Fridge Runtime Boost: Compatible refrigerators run approximately 15% longer with this mode enabled than with it disabled. • Emergency Power Mode: Even when the display shows 0%, RIVER Gen4 can use a small energy reserve to provide emergency phone charging.
• RIVER 260 Gen4: Better suited to short trips and light camping, powering devices such as phones, cameras, and laptops. • RIVER 520 Gen4: Offers greater capacity and longer runtime, making it better suited to overnight camping, powering multiple devices, or longer emergency backup.
Yes. With the EcoFlow USB-C to 12V Car Outlet Adapter, RIVER Gen4 can power devices with a 12V input. The adapter is included as a launch gift and supports up to 126W rated output (12.6V / 10A). For devices with startup power surges, such as car refrigerators, air pumps, and car vacuum cleaners, we recommend connecting the adapter to USB-C3.
• Rated AC output: 300W for RIVER 260 Gen4 and 500W for RIVER 520 Gen4. • Maximum total output: 505W for RIVER 260 Gen4 and 740W for RIVER 520 Gen4, combining simultaneous AC and USB-C output. • X-Boost: Enables RIVER Gen4 to power compatible appliances above its rated AC output. You can turn X-Boost on or off in the EcoFlow app.
RIVER Gen4 supports simultaneous AC and USB-C output with the following maximum combinations: • RIVER 260 Gen4: Up to 505W = 300W AC + 140W USB-C + 65W USB-C. • RIVER 520 Gen4: Up to 740W = 500W AC + 140W USB-C + 100W USB-C. The 140W USB-C port uses a dedicated power channel. The other 2× USB-C + 1× USB-A ports share a power module. When two or more devices are connected to this shared group, their combined output is limited to 25W. For maximum total output, connect high-power USB-C devices to the 140W USB-C port and another high-power USB-C port separately.
RIVER Gen4 continuously monitors AC output. When output stays below 5W for 2 hours, the unit automatically turns off AC output to reduce unnecessary power drain. You can adjust the settings in the EcoFlow app. The 5W threshold helps distinguish between no connected load and low-power devices that are still running, reducing unintended shutoffs for devices such as Wi-Fi routers and night lights.
RIVER Gen4 supports up to 110W solar charging. This is calculated using the unit’s maximum input voltage of 28V and maximum input current of 5A, assuming the solar panel’s operating voltage is approximately 80% of its open-circuit voltage: 28V × 80% × 5A = 112W, or approximately 110W. Actual charging power depends on solar panel characteristics, sunlight, temperature, and panel angle.
RIVER Gen4 supports the following connections: • Compatible USB-C solar panels: Connect to USB-C3 using a USB-C cable that meets the required specifications. • Non-USB-C solar panels: Connect to USB-C3 using the EcoFlow XT60 to Type-C Charging Cable, sold separately. Only USB-C3 supports solar input. Input voltage must be within 11–28V, and the panel’s open-circuit voltage must not exceed 28V.
RIVER Gen4 supports simultaneous AC and solar charging. Charging times from 0% to 80% are: • AC only: Approximately 42 minutes for RIVER 260 Gen4 and 50 minutes for RIVER 520 Gen4. • AC + solar: Based on theoretical calculations, approximately 40 minutes for RIVER 260 Gen4 and 41 minutes for RIVER 520 Gen4. Actual charging times depend on input power, ambient temperature, battery condition, and product settings.
Yes. When connected to AC power, RIVER Gen4 can charge its battery while powering connected devices. If AC power fails, the unit automatically switches to battery power within 10ms. For compatible computers, routers, NAS devices, and other equipment, this helps minimize interruptions and reduce the risk of sudden shutdowns and data loss. Devices have different switching-time requirements, so we recommend testing compatibility beforehand.
RIVER Gen4 is designed for everyday outdoor activities such as camping and road trips, rather than extreme sports. It has an IP20 rating and is not protected against water or fine dust. Keep the unit dry and well ventilated, and avoid rain and splashes.
RIVER Gen4 uses LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells that retain at least 80% of their original capacity after 4,000 full charge-discharge cycles and last approximately 10 years. It supports frequent outdoor and home use.
RIVER Gen4 operates at approximately 30 dB when measured at a distance of 0.5 m, at an ambient temperature of 25°C, with 200W output. That’s comparable to a soft whisper, allowing quiet use in a tent or bedroom. Actual noise levels vary with load, charging power, and temperature.
